US Consulate in Hyderabad to issue visas by month-end
The American Consulate General, Hyderabad is likely to start issuing visas by the end of the month after the necessary software is installed, according to the Consul General Cornelis M Keur.
Students from AP going to the US will also get tips at the Consulate for their safety in the US. On Friday, Cornelis Keur was invited for a meeting with state government officials to discuss the safety of students from the state in the US in view of the increasing attacks on them.
Minister for energy and in-charge of AP NRIs’ cell, Shabbir Ali, ministry of external affairs (MEA), joint secretary Ravi Shankar Isola and additional secretary to government (protocol), N V Ramana Reddy participated in the meeting held with the Consul General.
Around 100 Praja Rajyam activists attacked the Telugu Desam office at Banjara Hills and created a ruckus over certain comments made by Telugu Mahila president Roja against the Yuva Rajyam president Pavan Kalyan. Nine TD activists from Visakhapatnam, who had come to meet the Telugu Desam president, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, were injured in the attack and they were given medical attention.
