Ignore criticism, Reach out to people: Chiranjeevi to partymen
Hyderabad, Jan 20 : Seeking to boost the morale of his party cadre, actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi today asked the party workers to ignore the criticism from other parties and reach out to the people instead.
Addressing the functionaries of Praja Rajyam's district committees, he exhorted them to spread the party's agenda of change, social justice and fight against corruption among the people.
Praja Rajyam is the true alternative to the ruling Congress and main Opposition TDP which have failed to meet the expectations of the people, he said.
The Praja Rajyam had recently announced district and state committees and today's meeting was attended by office bearers of seven district committees.
Meanwhile, in a bid to consolidate the party's support base among the youth, Chiranjeevi's younger brother and party's youth wing president Pavan Kalyan today met Chief Electoral Officer I V Subba Rao and discussed with him an initiative launched by the authorities to enroll young voters.
The drive of registering eligible college students in the age of 18-20 as voters is a right step, Kalyan said.
Kalyan also urged Rao to expand the initiative of drop boxes in which the people can drop their voter enrollment application forms throughout the state.
Separately, the Praja Rajyam Party today obtained its registration certificate from the election authorities.
