Why our rulers diverted Krishna water to Coastal?: Chiru

Hyderabad, Dec.19: Giving a very strong Telangana overtone to his speech, the PRP chief Mr. Chiranjeevi has questioned why had they (the rulers) diverted the water to the coastal districts, ignoring the fluorine affected Telangana districts. “Are you not human beings. Do you not deserve the attention of the government. Do you not deserve the Krishna water”, he questioned the cheering crowd at a public meeting at Choutuppal in Nalgonda district on Friday. He said his stomach was turning in knots when he knew that people were suffering from fluorosis and were being impaired for life while water that could have saved their lives was being taken away from them right in front of their eyes. “Why have they not supplied Krishna water to the fluorine affected districts of Telangana” he angrily questioned.

In a fervent effort at wooing the voters, Chiranjeevi told them that he had come in to politics at their request as they had supported him for thirty years. “Give me a chance” he urged and said “let us together change the system. Let us improve our lives.” He has assured the people of Nalgonda that the fluorine problem would be wiped out if his party was voted to power. Addressing the large number of cheering youth present, he said that only the youth had the capacity and power to change the future of the nation and the state. He implored upon them to get involved in politics and change the future of the state by supporting the PRP. Talking about the ever increasing accidents on the NH 9, he wondered why the highway still continued to be a two-lane road. He also promised to turn it into a four-lane road. Talking about the various promises being made by different parties on the eve of elections, he advised them not to believe all those promises as they were intended to “dupe you and get your votes.” He said “from now on several people would come to you promising every thing under the heaven. They would even promise every thing free of cost. Do not believe them and make the mistake you have made earlier. Support the PRP so that the lives of all of us would change.”
