"Ashta chemma" Bhagavi Murdered by Husband

Up-and-coming Telugu actress, TV anchor and TV serial artiste Bhargavi was murdered in mysterious circumstances allegedly by her ''husband'' Praveen Kumar, who later committed suicide at her posh Banjara Hills residence here today. According to police, Kumar, who claimed to be the actor's husband, committed suicide by consuming cyanide. Police found their bodies on a bed. Bhargavi, who had acted in a successfully running Telugu film 'Asta Chemma' had stab injuries on her body, police said. Kumar, who was an orchestra singer, had performed in several programmes with Bhargavi before she became an actress. She was supposed to participate in a shooting for her new film today. When she failed to turn up after the unit members came to her flat to pick her up for the shooting, they informed the police, which broke open the doors of the room. They found the bodies of Bhargavi and Kumar on a bed. They recovered a knife, an empty cold drink and poison bottles and a letter written by Kumar stating that he had married Bhargavi in 2006. Police suspect that Kumar might have committed suicide after murderingBhargavi. However, Bhargavi's parents had denied that their daughter had married Praveen Kumar. Kumar's family members, including his brother, told the media that they have no knowlege about his brother's marriage to the actress. However, he confirmed that Kumar had married twice earlier.
