Jr.NTR to compaign for TDP from March 12

Hyderabad, Feb 8: The popular Telugu hero of the Nandamuri family, Junior NTR,will launch his much awaited election campaigning for the Telugu Desam Party from March 12.

According to party sources,the young man will plunge into the political campaigning from where the megastar Chiranjeevi had launched his campaign for his Praja Rajyam Party the Srikakulam district. The TDP has finalised the tour programme of Junior NTR from that district because it was keen on warding off the effect of prominent party leader,Mr Kala Venkata Rao and his supporters leaving the party and joining the PRP.

As Mr Venkata Rao,a strong leader with a back up of a dominant caste was expected to make a clear dent in the TDP's fortunes,the TDP wanted to use the image of Junior NTR to once again gain strength in the district. Mr Kala Venkata Rao left the party due to his differences with the TDP leader,Mr Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu.

Junior NTR will first go to Nimmakuru,the native place of the party founder and doyen of the film industry late N T Rama Rao and anoint his statue there with milk, before leaving for Srikakulam, these sources added.

The party was making arrangements for taking the actor round in a helicopter as he is hard pressed for time, due to his busy film schedule.Junior NTR is also said to have told the party managers that he would not like to travel by road in a van like uncle Nandamuri Bala Krishna as he was afraid that the dust and pollution would affect his health and voice and interrupt his film shootings.Because of his request,the party has agreed to send him to all major stations by helicopter and was arranging an air conditioned vehicle with all the amenities for him to make short distance travels.

Subject to changes in his shooting schedules, Junior NTR is expected to cover three north coastal districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam during the first phase of his tour.
